![]() This has to be some memorable stuff - so I'm thinking he literally changes the arena completely, summoning you to either the moon or some unique space-scape with an ocean and an ancient city in the background (R'lyeh), just something cool.but this means no arena for the second phase, so the devs have to develop a good fight here with a cool pre-made landscape (maybe some random generation? Not sure - it'll be small though, about half the length of a small world or something, and you don't dig or anything, though you can for some unique R'lyeh blocks to take back - it's just a unique arena). ![]() ![]() They'll happen sort of one at a time so it's not ridiculously spammy and cheap (especially with the illusions), but still require you to be a boss at dodging and tracking with your cursor (assuming you don't have auto-aim weapons), probably aiming at the brain as the weak spot.Īs you fight him, he can vanish from the background and appear on either side of the map in the ocean for a mini-phase (with a sprite similar to the concept design's side profile, but translucent), where you have to race to him dodging his creatures and lasers and so forth and damage him enough to end that mini-phase and return him to the background.Īs you damage him his translucent body becomes more solid and at the usual maybe about half HP his body is fully visible (you can no longer see the brain and eyes and all that), and he starts using abilities unique to him as the real fight starts with his second phase. After that, you see all of his body parts fly up into the sky (brain, eye, skeleton, all of it) and they all go to their respective places to form the shape of a body, as the body of Cthulhu itself phases in and merges with them in the background, effectively returning Cthulhu to his former state but not yet complete (translucent octo skin, and you can still see his body parts through it, similar to the ninja trapped in King Slime).ĭuring the first phase he can utilize his old body parts in similar ways to their respective fights - his one eye can charge at you, his other eye can shoot at you with lasers and a third eye can shoot you with cursed flame (so all three eyes are involved), two hands swipe at you while the other two shoot you with lasers and bombs respectively (Skeletron Prime), his skull can home in on you (Skeletron) and his brain can make illusions of all of these attacks. I can imagine the story being something like Moon Lord's defeat was actually a sacrifice, as the cosmic energy left behind by Steve's death was then consumed by Cthulhu to revitalize him from the weakened state the Dryads left him in.
